Do the following within a JSP:

<%!
private stat
%>

At the end of the word "stat" press cntl-space and enter at "static". The word "private" disappears.

You guys are too good! Unfortunately, I am writing a chapter in
my Eclipse book about using MyEclipse for J2EE development so
I will probably have more postings in the next few days.

Just a funny note: I am using Eclipse 2.1.1. And if i try the same in a Java file the completion to static is not offered!
