I am trying to remote debug websphere 5.0.2 from MyEclipse.

Before myeclipse connects to the remote application server, I could see it is listening on work port, say 10011.

As soon as I starts the remote debuging, that listening port disappears, and myeclipse got connection refused error.

The tricky part is, I couldn’t find any log file tell me what happened, no core dump…

    any suggestion?

    Thanks a lot

    Jack,

I assume you’ve read our Remote Debugging Quickstart in the Documentation section, correct?

What you’re reporting is quite peculiar and we haven’t seen it before. We tie into the standard Java remote debugging capabilities in the JDK, but since IBM writes their own JDK’s there’s no telling what’s up, unless you can run down a log or something. We do have some documentation on configuring logging for WebSphere here:

    Scott,

Thanks, the problem seems gone by itself after I reinstall the instance.
