Could you advise me on whether to use 2.6.2 or 3.6.2 based on M3?
Does the version based on M3 work stable? .. . are there any known limitations?

3.6.2 is the release that works on M3, and it is functionally equivalent to 2.6.2. Stability seems OK, but we still recommend using 2.1.1 and 2.6.2 for all production work since 3.0 is definately a “work in progress” and not as stable as 2.1.1.
