Hi there
As I currently can't run my Ant scripts with MyEclipse 3.8.4 QF2 Beta for 3.1
( which is a known problem) installed: is there any chance of getting a early release of 3.9 or update to 3.8.4 QF2 Beta for 3.1 as I am having to edit my JSF pages with a plain old text or xml editor. This is very tedious :? Last resort I could run my Ant sctipts from a command window but I would loose my ant debugger. Very last resort would be to download an evaluation copy of Sun's Creator
Regards

Acutally a workaround for the issue is to activate the functionality
using the hotkeys Alt + Shift + X. Hopefully, that will tide you over. :-) |

Thanks for that : I still wouldn't getting my hands on that beta if it is stable and makes JSF programming easier as is in Creator.
cheers

Stability will be determined soon, when the first milestone goes public. ;-)
Yes, the JSF tools make JSF programming much easier in M1 and more will be coming in M2+. |

Scott ,
I look foward to M2. Anyway I reinstalled MyEclipse clicked on the build
script and did the Alt Shift X and all this produced was a yellow menu
box which suggested I did Alt Shift X and Q to run the build script. I tried
this and nothing happened - this was verified by Interface21's Rob Harrop who happened to be standing behind me at the time.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Do I need a mapping set up in Eclipse?
cheers

Daniel,
When I did it, I clicked on the option I wanted when the "yellow menu box" came up. Can you give a mouse-click a try? Worked for me. |

Hi there
This problem gets more and more intreguing (or is that annoying :?) :
My home win XP Pro with Eclipse 3.1 M6 and 3.8.4 QF2 Beta does exactly as you say and I can run by my build script. Whereas my work Win 2K PC does not allow this; the reason being is the prefences->ant-runtime won't even appear. A message dialog gives a error and the log file is awash with exceptions. I unistall MyEclipse and the runtime
dialog reappears. Any suggestions?
I guess I could 1) reinstall myEclipse and hope for a miracle 2) I could reinstall everything from scratch (Eclipse 3.1 M7?) however, I would
want to migrate all my workspace settings, project working sets etc without having to reenter these manually - is there a check list of config files to move across ?
Finally MyEclipse 4.0 looks really good wrt JSF support however I need the version for Eclipse 3.1 as I am coding against JSE 1.5.
Regards

Daniel,
This is very peculiar. Can you try changing the shortcut you use to start Eclipse so you can restart it one time with -clean on the command line?
Like this: eclipse.exe -clean
That forces a rebuild of all the cached state.

Release 4.0M2, in a few weeks, will ship on both 3.0 and 3.1. And, the JSF tools will be even better. :-) |

| "In a few weeks"? Are you aiming for a release date or a feature set? |

| Feature/Bugs for milestone builds is about a 60/40 split, when we hit RC stage it will become a 10/90 split as we focus almost exclusively on stabalizing everything but anything that isn't feature complete by RC's will be postponed for the next release. |

| I see you have released 4.0M2 but it's for Eclipse 3.0 only... :-( |

| We'll have it on 3.1 as soon as the port is finished. We're working as quickly as we can and it should be available by the end of the month, around the time that 3.1 goes final. |
