Upgrading Eclipse from 3.1 M6 to 3.1 M7 and Myeclipse?

What is procedure for the upgrade to eclipse 3.1 M7 and MyEclipse 3.8.4 for Eclipse 3.1 M7 from Eclipse 3.1 M6 with MyEclipse 3.8.4 for Eclipse 3.1 M6?

I tried the following:
1. Shutdown Eclipse.
2. Backup Eclipse and MyEclipse folders completely (in case of problems).
3. Upgrade manually to 3.1 M7 by unzipping 3.1 M7 over 3.1 M6
4. Run MyEclipse 3.8.4 for M7 installer and overwrite MyEclipse installation.
5. Start Eclipse.

The IDE report corrupt workspace and I rolled back from a copy of both prior to upgrade.

What is the correct procedure?

Divyesh,

The only proper procedure is to install a clean copy of Eclipse 3.1M7 and then install a clean copy of MyEclipse 3.8.4 for M7 on top of it. There isn’t a real “upgrade” because we’re working with milestone/beta releases.
