[XP SP2; JDK1.5.0_upg3; Eclipse 3.0.2; MyEclipse 4.0M1]

You've inherited a quirk from Argo: Drop a new class/ package onto a diagram; start typing a name - the 1st char is lost.

I don't know if the 1st char is supposed to do something special - I have never found anything and it's pretty irritating.
