Cannot install MyEclipse 3.1. The message says "Wrong Eclipse Version". Asks for Eclipse 3.1, which is installed.
The same problem on 2 machines - Fedora FC3 and Windows XP.
jdk - 1.5.0_03

Vlad,

That's because RC1 *IS* the wrong Eclipse version for MyEclipse 3.8.4 Beta for Eclipse 3.1M6. The build is specifically for M6, not RC1, so the message is quite correct. So, it's basically preventing you from installing a combination that just *won't work*.

Scott,
Thank you for the explanation.
May be it is better to make the error message more specific.

Thanks,
Vlad

I wonder, will MyEclipse 4.0M2 still be based on M7, or will you go straight to RC1?

On the other hand, by the time 4.0M2 will be released Eclipse3.0 final will probably be only a few days away from a release, so it might not be worth the trouble to do another build for a milestone or RC release if the final is so close.

Yes, we'll go to the latest Eclipse build available at the time.
