Genuitec has announced the release of MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 8.0. MyEclipse 8.0 now also supports Eclipse Web Tools Platform (WTP) projects so that enterprises standardized on WTP are compliant with corporate regulations while utilizing the power of MyEclipse.

“MyEclipse users get overwhelming value with the addition of our Internet Explorer debugger and VisualVM Java Profiler; if these were standalone technologies they would be worth more than the total licensing cost for the entire MyEclipse IDE,” said Riyad Kalla, MyEclipse product manager for Genuitec in a press statement. “Now add-in support for WTP projects, Struts 2 plus more and desktop developers have the simplest, yet most powerful IDE on the market. And it's one hundred percent risk free.”

With the Internet Explorer debugger users will not have to pull an application down to make bug fixes or enhancements; it's the world’s first tool for debugging already-deployed IE applications in real time.

Another unmatched enhancement to MyEclipse 8.0 is the inclusion of WTP project support. Many companies are standardized on the WTP project structure, and now those corporations can develop persistence, business logic, presentation layers and more by having full access to MyEclipse technologies – all while maintaining corporate standards.

“What do software developers want in their tools?” asks Todd Williams, vice president of technology for Genuitec, also in a press statement. “They want free or near-free software development technologies that do the job in the most efficient, simple and effective manner. Developers fall in and out of love with tools suites and IDEs, and at Genuitec we are acutely aware of this behavior and strive to make MyEclipse an easy, diverse and powerful technology that exceeds the expectations of everyone from novice programmers to experienced architects.”

Genuitec customers will also enjoy improvements to the Struts 2 extensible framework, which is used for creating enterprise-ready Java web applications. Created by the Apache Foundation, this framework is designed to streamline the full development cycle, from building, to deploying, to maintaining applications over time.
