Post subject: Totally Disabling Maven4MyEclipse in MyEclipse 8.6
I have very recently upgraded from MyEclipse 8.5 to 8.6.

In 8.5, I was able to disable Maven4MyEclipse under Window--> Preferences-->MyEclipse

But in 8.6 it is enabled by default and is grayed, so I cannot change it to disable totally.
Window-->Preference-->MyEclipse-->Maven4MyEclipse
Enable Maven4MyEclipse features is checked and checkbox grayed out.

Sure I can take it off line
Window-->Preference-->MyEclipse-->Maven4MyEclipse--Maven
Check Offline checkbox option

But I was hoping to disable it altogter, because on initial start of the IDE, I see the update
status displaying Updating Maven Dependencies....
Which lead me to believe it still doing something with Maven

Any idea?

tennisbum79,

Are you using a standard or professional subscription?

This feature is available only for Professional subscription and if you are on standard subscription you can upgrade it.

You can go through this link for the same :
http://myeclipseide.com/module-htmlpages-display-pid-1.html

You can send a mail to subscriptions@myeclipseide.com and specify the current subscription detail and ask for an upgrade. You need to pay only the difference from standard to professional.

What difference does the subscription level make if I want to disable it?

I am not looking to activate it, but disable it.
Why would I need a Professional subscription in order to disable this functionality?

I do not understand.

Anyway, I have the standard subscription

For some reason that page was incorrectly disabled with 8.6 STD - however, the feature should have been disabled automatically too, this is something we will look into (the builder may run even if you are able to uncheck this box)

For now, the following options are available:
a) You will see this message only if you have Maven projects in your workspace, if you simply close them - you won't see these messages, but I understand if this is not an option.
or
b) You can remove the Maven components from MyEclipse entirely - go to Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center and on the Dashboard tab, under My Software, uncheck "Maven Support for MyEclipse" and apply this change.

Hope this helps,
Brian.

I do not have any Maven project but I was still seeing update on MyEclipse startup until I checked Offine.

Even with Offine checked, I am still getting Checking Maven dependencies... on startup.

I wil try the second option in your sugeestion of uncheking "Maven Support for MyEcliipse" and see what happens

Thanks
