Post subject: Could not create empty project  PostPosted: Oct 05, 2009 - 04:45 PM

Hi ,
I m using MyEclipse from past 6months (I have valid license for a year). It was working fine until now.

I have project "project1" which i created few months ago, I can edit/modify code in this workspace without any issue.

I m not able to create any empty project or any new project, whenever i try to do so, myEclipse crashes with following error in hs_err_pid****.log file. but i can work with my old projects.

I do not understand why is this happening. I tried reinstalling MyEclipse but it didnt help. I assume that it may be some JVM issue.

Please let me know any solution for this.
Thanks
Narendra singh

Narendra,
Are you able to create new projects in a new workspace?

Can you use the -clean command and check if it helps:-

Narendra,
In that case you move your project to a new workspace and start working there. Seems like the old workspace has gone corrupt for some reason.

Could you please clarify if this something you would not like to do or is this something you were unable to do since you ran into problems ?

sorry for confusion.
I can not create project in any workspace. This is what i m trying to do.
1) Clicked on MyEclipse desktop icon
2) Specified new workspace location ( non existing location)
3) MyEeclipse loads default setting and it keep on working for few seconds and after that it close by itself without any warring/error message.

I was working on a project called "ABCProject1" (name changed) from last few months and now i want to work on new project. Because of the MyEclipse issue i m not able to do so.

Please let me know the fix for this.

Narendra,
What OS are you working on? I think you could be facing some kind of permission issue here. Can you please confirm that you have the permission to write to your workspace folder?

I m working on Windows XP 32bit platform.
I do have write permissions to entire hard disk (that includes workspace folder too).

Is there a way by which I can attach document( PPT or .doc) with figures to explain what I'm doing?

Thanks Narendra

Thank you for the file. I'll ask the dev team to look into this and get back to you with an update asap.

Narendra,
We have not seen this kind of behavior earlier and we are not sure what could be causing it. Do you face this same issue with plain Eclipse as well?

I guess reinstall is the only option left for you.

Hi,
I dont see any error while working with plain Eclipse.
I already tried reinstalling MyEclipse several times, but no luck.

What should i do now?. I bought license for a year and its almost more then 4 months that i m facing this problem. If it goes like this then my license period will go in waste.

Thanks
Narendra
