Has anyone ever come up with a solution to this? At a 10.0 release I would surely think this would have been addressed by now.

As I type '<h:data...' whatever....I am always well ahead of the editor.

Help!!

mangelo,

Sorry you are seeing this problem. There was a similar problem in 9.0 that was fixed in 9.1, so I hope this has not regressed. In that case, the problem occurred if there were a lot (5-10) of dependent projects to the project causing the problem. If this is not your situation, could you try to replicate the problem with a simple project and attach the project here, for us to try to replicate, which we haven't been able to do so far, with release 10.0.

Also, please provide your installation details (MyEclipse->Installation Summary->Installation Details) and list any additional plug-ins that you've added.

mangelo,

Thanks for the installation details. You didn't say if you had any 3rd party plug-ins installed (and, if so, which ones). Also, if you could try this with a fresh workspace and a simple web project with a new XHTML file, that might give us some more useful information. Does the problem as soon as you start editing a new file or only after certain constructs have been added? Does it happen on every XHTML file?

From your first post, it seems as though you may have had this problem with earlier releases, is that correct?

This is my one and only web project. I have no 3rd party plug-ins installed. I went from a fresh install of ME 10, created this web project, added IceFaces capabilities and started creating some XHTML files. The editor is very slow.

Mike,

Thanks for that extra information. Once I'd added ICEfaces capability, I could reproduce the problem when introducing certain ICEfaces tags. It didn't happen with all ICEfaces tags but once certain tags were added the editor slowed right down even for some non-ICEfaces tags.

I've raised a bug report for it. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

In the meantime, the only workaround is to use a non-visual editor, such as the MyEclipse HTML Editor or the MyEclipse JSP Editor. Content assist is available on these editors.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
