Installation from Update Site fails

    Hi,

    while trying to install MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 10.1 from the provided update site, installation fails with an invalid content error:

    An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
    session context was:(profile=epp.package.jee, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
    Problems downloading artifact: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.m2e.archetype.common,1.0.0.20110607-2117.
    File has invalid content:/tmp/signatureFile6598676992244903502.jar
    Invalid content:META-INF/plexus/.gitignore
    A file "META-INF/plexus/.gitignore" has been removed from the jar: /tmp/signatureFile6598676992244903502.jar
    Problems downloading artifact: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.m2e.maven.indexer,1.0.0.20110607-2117.
    File has invalid content:/tmp/signatureFile3487116321201587055.jar
    Invalid content:META-INF/plexus/.gitignore
    A file "META-INF/plexus/.gitignore" has been removed from the jar: /tmp/signatureFile3487116321201587055.jar

    Is this possibly a known issue? I couldn’t find any hints on this searching the forums…

    Sorry that you are seeing this issue.Alternatively you can use the archived update site.I have escalated it to a dev team member. They will get back to you.

    We were unaware that this issue affected the update site. As Swapna pointed out, a workaround for now is to download and use the archived update site instead. Alternatively, if you do not use Maven, you can deselect that component when installing from the update – the problem occurs in two maven plugins.

    We’ll fix the update sites in the upcoming 10.6 build. Thank you for reporting the problem.
