Hello
I am trying to use axis2 version 1.6 with MyEclipse. I went to Eclipse.org and downloaded the plugins for the code generator and service generator (versions tried are 1.6.0, 1.6.1, 1.6.2, 1.6.3 and 1.7.. also tried the various snapshots). I put them in the plugins folder under<My Eclipse 6.6>/eclipse/plugins, but neither plugins show up when I click on New. Please help.

gadiga,

To help me investigate further, please provide below information -
1. Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details > [Copy to Clipboard] and paste the same here
2. Could you share the weblink to download the plugins?
3. Please verify that the plugins are compatible to Eclipse 3.3 - Europa
4. If you have downloaded the plugins you need to add them to [MyEclipse installation director]/addons/plugins and features to [MyEclipse installation director]/addons/features. Next restart the IDE.
5. To verify that the plugins are added, do the following - click on Help > About MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench. Click on [plug-in details] and look for the relevant plug-in name.

I see that you are still using MyEclipse 6.6. Please note that this version is very old, the latest version is 10.5.

I have axis2 1.6.2 codegen plugin with Java 1.6. I dropped the jar file into the dropins folder. It can be downloaded from http://axis.apache.org/axis2/java/core/tools/index.html.
The actual message is
An error occurred while completing process
-java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException

I also verified under Workbench Installation Details->Plug-ins that the plugin exists as unsigned. The plugin name is Axis2 Codegen Wizard Plug-in version=1.6.2 pluginId=org.apache.axis2.eclipse.codegen.plugin

gadiga ,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue. We do not provide intrinsic support for third party plugins, but we will try to assist you in this case.

I downloaded the org.apache.axis2.eclipse.codegen.plugin_1.6.2.jar from the location you have mentioned, and placed it <dropins>/<plugins>/org.apache.axis2.eclipse.codegen.plugin_1.6.2.jar. I restarted my IDE and I can see the Axis2 Code Generator listed in the Axis2 Wizards under New.

Can you please close the ME IDE, place the jar in the location as said above and give it a try?

Attached is the screenshot for your reference.

Hi Swapna
It shows up in the IDE but I get a Java error when I try to run the plugin for my code. It throws a InvocationTargetException. From some of the topics I read it seems to be some tuning in the IDE that is required. I am not sure how to do that in 10.6.

gadiga,

Looks like there is an issue with the plugin on Eclipse Helios and Indigo. Please check this thread :
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8122285/axis2-plugin-for-eclipse-does-not-work?rq=1

Can you please try to get it working on Eclipse Indigo which is the base version for MyEclipse 10.6 ? If you are seeing issues with the plugin on Eclipse, then please post on Eclipse forums for better support.
