Hi,

I dont want to start any firing discussion here but may i know the pros/cons and feature supports or anything else about MyEclipse compared to IDEA.

Also, I couldn't devote much time on MyEclipse for past 15-16 days and the license got expired. I need more time to test. Can my MyEclipse trial license be extended for 1 more month?

As far as comparing IDEA to MyEclipse you can get most of the information from our feature list: http://www.myeclipseide.com/ContentExpress-display-ceid-15.html

One of the big things that the feature list does not cover yet is our big push for new RAD development tools that IDEA does not support. We are trying to focus more on Wizards and WYSIWYG editors like WSAD while IDEA focuses heavily on powerful source editors. IMO the comparison stops as soon as you consider the price, IDEA is $400 and ME is $30. You and your development team (or manager) should be able to prioritize quickly what the most important features/abilities are and then see which IDE provides that functionality to you.

eclipse/myeclipse is 30$ and IDEA is 400$ - for other thing IDEA is better

snpe brings up a good point, if you like how Eclipse handles Java code better than IDEA, that is something you need to consider as well since the Eclipse platform does provide so much as is.

gays from jetbrains are great

IDEA is swing application and quicker than eclipse (request 256 MB min)
have great jsp, xml and html editing (and java of course like eclipse)
