Bob,

From your description of your 2.1 installation:
Quote:

eclipse 2.1 platform runtime binary + jdt installed

it makes me wonder if you installed the complete and unabridged version of Eclipse 2.1 or did you just install only the pieces you've listed? We only test on the complete Eclipse 2.1 product drop, not on any of the "lighter" configurations.

That's odd that you list only those two because MyEclipse-WebTooling should be there also. I'm going to guess that for some reason that component couldn't be initialized in your Eclipse 2.1 installation. The reason that this occured should be displayed as a stacktrace in you log file located at <eclipse-workbench>/.metadata/.log

Would you please check there and see if it reveals any dependencies of the web tooling component that aren't being satisfied?

I ran into the same option initially, so downloaded the eclipse version myeclipse and JSDK 1.4, now the webtools, core, server options show up in the preferences, but under the workspace menu there's still no options for JBoss, and the MyEclipse doesn't have any options for starting Jboss, even after I refersh the perspective. There's nothign in the logs. The Tomcat plugin works fine. What part of the steps did I miss?
