When my project builds it seems to spend a very very long time compiling JSPs. Is there a way that I can switch this off ?

Paul,

You can turn off JSP validation for the entire workspace at Window > Preferneces > MyEclipse > Validation or at the project level at Properties > MyEclipse-Validation. Once automatic validation is turned off, you can still force validation manually by right-clicking on the project/folder/file in the Package Explorer View and selecting MyEclipse > Run validation
