I was pleasently surprised to see that the first UML release will also do code generation.
Question: What about UML generating J2EE code? Specifically ejb's, but also jsp's and servlets.
Do I still have to mess with xdoclet settings to get genned code from an ejb? Or, can I design everything in UML and gen code, customize, and deploy.

Thanks,
-nat

nat,
Currently the UML generation is for POJOs, we haven't done a J2EE spin on it yet so no JSP/HTML/J2EE apps just yet.

Check out AndroMDA:

http://www.andromda.org/

It does a lot of this using POJOs.

Only thing it requires of the UML tool is that it supports:
# XMI
# The XMI file should contain an UML 1.4 metamodel
# Class Diagrams
# Activity Graphs (if you are using the bpm4struts cartridge)
# UML tagged values
# UML constraints

Sounds interesting.
Maybe the ME folks can include that as well, and (almost) painlessly have a UML J2EE platform.
