Update: This issue is fixed by the 10.6 update. If you have installed or updated to 10.6, you will not be affected by this issue.

MyEclipse 10.x users could suffer from a problem where they are unable to update the index for the central Maven repository. This will show up as an error in the log
Code:
Unable to update index for central|http://repo1.maven.org/maven2
whenever an attempt is made to update the index, either directly or indirectly.

We will be releasing a fix for this issue in the upcoming 10.6 release, due in about a week and available as an in-product update to all users.

We also have an archived update site attached to this post which can be used in MyEclipse 10.5 to fix the issue. Note: Please do not apply this patch to prior versions of MyEclipse, if you are using 10.0 or 10.1, please update to 10.5 before applying this fix.

1) Download the file attached to this post (you must be logged-in to see the file).
2) Go to Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center.
3) On the Software tab, select the "Add site" link. Select the archive you downloaded and give it a suitable name.
4) This site will now appear under Personal Sites in the Browse Software section.
5) Expand the site and the Uncategorized node, right-click "Maven Support for MyEclipse" and choose "Add to Profile".
6) Apply the change and restart MyEclipse when prompted.

You should now be able to update the central repository Index.
